Forecast platform as a support for audacious thinkers and creators

Forecast platform is an interdisciplinary mentorship program based in Berlin. The applicants from all disciplines are to propose concepts that demonstrate originality and a clear vision. They are offered a support from creative thinkers from various disciplines and the chance to work with accomplished mentors toward bringing their projects to fruition. The deadline for applications is Monday, February 10.

One of the experts in this edition is performer Lulu Obermayer.  Her work spans opera, theatre, performance art, dramaturgy, and choreography. Her practice intertwines historical facts and theatrical anecdotes, placing both fictional and real female voices at the forefront to examine questions of agency and representation on stage. Obermayer's performances have been showcased at international venues and festivals. In 2020, Obermayer premiered her first ensemble piece, L’Opra Fatale, commissioned by Steirischer Herbst and performed at the Graz Opera, which delves into the motif of female murderers in opera. That same year, she was nominated for the Caroline Neuber Award and Forecast Mentorships. She is the first Forecast alum to return to the program as a mentor.

In addition to Obermayer (DE), mentors in this edition include fashion designer Hussein Chalayan (Cyprus/UK), vocalist and composer Elaine Mitchener (UK), artist and filmmaker Ruth Patir (Israel), video and installation artist James Richards (UK), and electronic musician and producer Sote (Iran/US).

Forecast aims to facilitate a productive working relationship between a mentee and a mentor, to promote a deep transdisciplinary exchange, and to help extend professional networks. Forecast is not a grant. Although our nominees and mentees receive an artist fee and production budget, this should not be the main purpose for applying. A functioning and fruitful relationship between mentor and mentee is what Forecast exists for.

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm CET on Monday, February 10. If you want to apply, please use:
