Can a woman's love make her hit rock bottom? Can she save her dignity in the world dominated by men?
The show is inspired by the film of Walerian Borowczyk named the greatest scandal of the Polish cinematography and equally well-known book of Stefan Żeromski of the same title.
A story of a woman lonely in the world of men. A woman who led by her passions hits rock bottom. A woman who on that day bounces back and saves a part of herself. It is also a story of the world. The world in which our emotions, feelings and weaknesses are being observed as in a shop window.
The ballet The Wages of Sin is an encounter with literature and even with... a film. Karol Urbański, the creator of the show, has illustrated the story with music from that time – late romantic symphonic poems of Mieczysław Karłowicz. The show has gained cinematographic expression becoming a story-telling ballet, a dance adaptation of the story being told.
