A dynamic dance work from choreographer and dance practitioner Chris Pavia

Chris Pavia - one of the leading choreographers and dancers with Down syndrome in the world, associated with the Stopgap Dance Company group for years - at the invitation of the Center for Inclusive Art, will perform for the first time in Poland, where he will show two of his famous works: "Echoes Within The Earth" and " The Journey Between. The performance will be show 11 of September at The Zbigniew Raszewski Theatre Institute.

The pieceThe Journey Between explores how humanity connects and disconnects, a relationship that has long been signified in mythology surrounding the movement of the planets. In The Journey Between, two cosmic entities, Jupiter and Mars, embodied by wheelchair dancer Nadenh Poan and non-disabled dancer Christian Brinklow, search for each other through space.

The 20-minute piece is accompanied by immersive digital projection created by learning disabled artists from the Brighton-based agency Carousel. This collaboration results in a visually stunning work to tour with Stopgap’s dance film called Artificial Things, in which Chris stars as a performer.

Echoes Within The Earth invites audiences along for an accessible promenade dance work that weaves through natural spaces. Take a journey through nature following one of the two adventurers, beginning apart, but finding one another as they chase a mysterious echo.
