The XVI International Gombrowicz Festival in October

On the first day, the premiere of the monodrama Biesiada u hrabiny Kotłubaj (A Feast at the Countess of Kotłubai), directed by Błażej Peszek and performed by Małgorzata Maślanka, who celebrated 30 years of artistic work that evening, took place on the Kotłownia stage. The audience warmly welcomed the performance and gave a long round of applause to thank Małgorzata for her enormous work.

The Big Stage presented a performance of ‘Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy’ directed by Adam Orzechowski from the Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk. The actors immediately entranced the audience to play along, later making them accomplices to the crime.

The second day began with the debate ‘Writing is ME! Autobiography as a search for identity’. The meeting was chaired by Michał Pabian, who spoke with Justyna Sobolewska and Radosław B. Maciąg.

On the Kameralna stage, we were transported to distant ‘America’ by the H. Konieczka Polish Theatre from Bydgoszcz. The big stage hosted ‘Yvonne, Princess’ again, directed by Jarosław Tumidajski from the Jan Kochanowski Powszechny Theatre in Radom, this time in a completely different edition.
